Jude was born on November 17th, to Dominic and Estelle Moretti in Newark, New Jersey. His parents had been married for eight years, but they weren't happy. His father was the typical Italian Jersey man, their mother had grown up in a small town in Ohio. Dominic was a successful businessman and led a very busy lifestyle. Estelle had been a waitress, but her main job was taking care of the kids. With Jude's father being so successful she didn't really need a job anymore. Two years after Jude's birth his father became more and more absent, and Jude's mother finally asked for a divorce.
Jude and his older brother moved in with his mother, while his older sister went with their dad. Looking back on it Jude really has no idea how this happened, but he's glad he got to stay with his mother. Sure, his life would have been a whole hell of a lot different.. would have been a shit ton easier but he loved his mother and he's grew to think his father was an asshole.
Growing up wasn't easy. His father sort of abandoned the other side of the family, and his sister didn't take notice and continued thinking that he was some sort of stand up guy. Maybe if Jude had tons of money at his disposal he'd think they same too. Truth was his dad was bitter about the whole divorce and he wanted his ex-wife to come back to him. He thought if he didn't give her any money or spend time with his sons that she would be forced into coming back to him. Too bad Estelle was tougher than that and wouldn't be forced back into a life she knew wasn't right for her.
His mother used her divorce settlement to buy a nice house, and an old restaurant. After that however there wasn't much money left over. She worked eighty hours a week trying to make her restaurant a success and have money to get the boys whatever they needed. Christmases were never much, but the boys knew how hard their mother struggled and they appreciated everything she did for him. It was Christmas of sixth grade that Jude got his first guitar. They didn't have enough for lessons, but his mother promised she's get those for him eventually. It didn't matter though Jude was able to teach himself how to play. He spent all his time just strumming on the guitar writing chords down and trying to figure out what sounded good together.
He joined band in seventh grade as a percussionist because they only had guitar in jazz band. This was where he met three boys who he soon became friends and started up their band, "My Dying Day" with. Originated from his answer to the question, "Why should we let you in our band?" ... "Because I love music. I'm going to be playing it until my dying day." The boys worked hard the next two years on their music but only played in each other's garages. That was until Jude finally started calling up and getting the band bigger gigs.
During high school the band experienced stardom within their hometown and surroundings areas. They even got playing time in some low-key New York City hot spots. After graduation they moved to NYC where they all lived in a crappy apartment and kept doing small gigs around there. They went on tours around the east coast opening for semi-famous bands and gaining notoriety. It wasn't until Jude's older brother got a job at the California University of Arts that the band made a changed. Since immediate family members of professors get a tuition discount Jude thought this the best way he'd ever get a degree. So My Dying Day moved across country to Los Angeles and once again moved into a crappy apartment. Now they are working getting new gigs and contacts, while Jude personally is working on a photography degree hoping to get a big break out in L.A.
