At the southeast corner of Bedford and Santa Monica Blvd., just two streets west of Rodeo Drive, is a luxurious slice of Asian elegance known as Crustacean. It's not surprising that the place has been attracting celebs: it's a spectacular restaurant, right in the middle of Beverly Hills' "Golden Triangle".

This chinese restuarant's decor is not traditional Chinese - no red lanterns here. You won't find chopsticks on the table, and the waiters are Italian. The sophisticated, contemporary decor features walls lined with modern art, and is complimented by round, black & white "kites" overhead. It's a busy, jumping restaurant, especially at lunch, so make reservations before you drop by.

Not far from Canters is a tiny little shack just north of the corner of trendy Melrose Avenue and La Brea. It's called Pink's, and although it looks like a dive, it's one of the most popular spots in town for grabbing a late-night snack.

No New Posts --HOLLYWOOD HILL'S COFFFE SHOP

As you drive along a tacky stretch of Franklin Avenue, a couple of miles east of Hollywood & Highland, you'll pass a nondescript Best Western Hotel sitting on the north side of the street, just a stone's throw east of the Hollywood Freeway. Inside is what would appear to be a typical 60's coffee shop, with red vinyl booths, a counter with stools, waiters in jeans & sneakers, and water served in cheap plastic tumblers.

This venerable old kosher deli is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week - and that may be one of the keys to its popularity; their aging "waitresses from hell" certainly aren't, nor is the average decor - even their food gets mixed reviews. But people just keep coming in droves for their huge sandwiches, low prices and sometimes rude service.

Located in a bright green shack just above the Pacific Coast sits Patrick's. The place is somewhat eccentric, somewhat rough around the edges, with mediocre food and zero decor.

A standard old-fashioned diner /coffee shop, complete with a counter (with stools), formica tables, comfortable brown booths, wood paneling on the walls (with movie posters on display), plus a bar with a jukebox and a big screen TV.
